A new DNC Ad for health care came out today that is just driving me crazy! The Ad, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtTBkxvBq88, says that Republicans are just playing politics when we come out to town hall meetings and voice our opinion. Now i know the democrats in Washington wish they could rewrite the Bill of Rights and just leave out that Amendment of free speach, but they can't so instead what do they do? They come out with the stupidest commercial i have ever seen. I first heard this Ad on Hannity today when he played it, but while i was listening i kept thinking it was a joke made up by Sean or Beck or something, but it wasn't. Here's what some of this Ad says:
"The right wing extremist republican base is back" "They lost the election, they lost on the Recovery Act, the budget, and children's health care. They've lost the confidence of the American people after 8 years of failed policies that ruined our economy and cost millions of American jobs." "Now Desperate Republicans and their well funded allies are organizing angry mobs just like they did during the election - Their goal, destroy president Obama and stop the change Americans voted for overwhelmingly in November."
First of all here they go again back to Bush, it's always about bush and his "crazy spending" when Obama and the rest are spending like drunken idiots. Our economy creates about $14 trillion a year in value. This fiscal year the government will have a deficit of over $2 trillion. Over the next 10 years it will create debt totaling 10 to $20 trillion, depending on the growth of the economy, which doesn't look good at all. You add that to an $11 trillion debt that was created over the entire history of this country and add that to 3 to $4 trillion over the next 10 years if we have a government-run health care system. Plus we still have $20 trillion in unobligated expenses as a result of Social Security.
This is completely unsustainable!!!! How with all that debt can those stupid liberals come out and say - "ooh yeahhh those stupid crazy Republicans and their spending has gotten us into this mess so you know what were gonna do? Spend our way out of it." That's not the way things work!! When you run out of money you don't keep spending, it's that simple!
This Ad also says "Now desperate Republicans and their well funded allies are organizing angry mobs just like they did during the election - Their goal, destroy president Obama and stop the change Americans voted for overwhelmingly in November."
What the hell do they think ACORN and SEIU are???? Those unions contribute millions of dollars to the democratic candidates and Obama's campaign. Ooh no, but we are "the mob" just look at us http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Bpshk5nX0 And then look at them - (Go to about 2:02 left if you don't want to watch to whole thing)http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=011008&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=7852578&referralPlaylistId=f909db77f0ad31bbfd35cb7e6a04f50204809c04
They are the ones who come prepared to protest and riot not us. We are the hard working Americans who are not out their everyday bombarding people with propaganda, but now that we've finally had enough and we're speaking out we're suddenly called the "mob"
The last thing i will say is that Obama did not win "Overwhelmingly" he got 52% of the vote and now that he is beginning to show his true colors people are beginning to wake up and question what he, their Congressmen, and Senators in Washington are doing. Are they really doing what is best for us or is this just another way for the government to gain more control over our lives and freedoms that we cherish so dearly? I'm afraid it's the latter, but that doesn't mean we have to take this lying down! Get back out to those town hall meetings and let your voice be known because from the looks of it the message is getting through and it's getting through loud and clear!!
This is great, I checked out the links too. I agree. We are attacked as the mob, more like the ones manning the ramparts!!
ReplyDeleteWe first heard from the birthers, with their fake “birth certificate” in hand and with their fake outrage. These are the same under tones that you saw from Republicans during the confirmation hearings for Sonia Sotomayor, "you are not like us" or "you are too different", “you are not main stream”. And then they act surprised when people do not vote with them, they are lost, no core beliefs, too bad.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme religious right (people who love to push their beliefs on others while at the same time trying to take away their rights) and that’s who they need to focus on if they real want to win. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”.
It’s funny we hear Republicans say that they do not want “faceless bureaucrats” making medical decisions but they have no problem with “private sector” “faceless bureaucrats” daily declining medical coverage and financially ruining good hard working people. And who says that the “private sector” is always right, do we forget failures like Long-Term Capital, WorldCom, Global Crossing, Enron, Tyco, AIG and Lehman Brothers. Of course the federal government will destroy heathcare by getting involved, Oh but wait our military men and women and the Senate and Congress get the best heathcare in the world, and oh, that’s right, its run by our federal government. I can understand why some may think that the federal government will fail, if you look at the past eight years as a current history, with failures like the financial meltdown, Katrina, and the Walter Reed Scandal but the facts is they can and if we support them they will succeed.
Paul, there is something drastically wrong with the way you’re looking at this. The Republican Party has not been taken over by "right wing extremists." Those people you see in the video are real citizens who are concerned about their future, and I want to emphasize that it’s THEIR FUTURE, this is going to affect them not the bureaucrats in Washington who won't even subject themselves to the same treatment, why? Because they know how bad it's going to get.
ReplyDeleteYou have to understand this is not about “fixing health care” or "reforming health insurance" as they're calling it now. We have the best dam health care system in the world! People come to us for treatment we don’t go to them; there is a reason for that. This is about power and getting more people dependant on the system. There are ways to fix the system without having a complete overhaul of the system, which is what they are doing.
You say "why should we put our trust in the privet sector?" Because it's the privet sector that made this country great and prosperous, NOT government intervention. The privet sector is motivated to make their product as best they can because they are incentivized to do so from fear of not making a profit. The government has no incentive to keep costs down or work efficiently because they are not making a profit, they're using our money!! That’s the difference between the “faceless bureaucrats” in Washington and the “faceless bureaucrats” in the insurance companies.
You say if we support the government they will succeed. History has a habit of repeating itself. We can’t just ignore the fact that the government has been incompetent in running programs like this before. That’s like saying “well I know this kind of fish has poisoned all my friends, but what the heck maybe it won’t poison me.” It doesn’t work that way! We already have examples all over the world and even in our own country of how this system has failed miserably. Do you think those people put their trust in the government to do a good job? Of course they did, but now they are trying to escape it!
The last thing is I keep hearing people say “But don’t you understand there are 50 million people in this country without health insurance.” Now number one I’ve explained that that figure is wrong, but secondly I get it there are people who fall through the cracks, it happens, no system is perfect. The problem lies with the way they’re approaching fixing that problem. They are bringing the entire system down to the level of the people at the bottom, so that everyone has the same level of crappie care. That is not the way to handle things and I think Abraham Lincoln encapsulated it well when he said ““Property is the fruit of labor…property is desirable…is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built., [Mark R. Levin, Liberty and Tyranny]" Let’s not bring down the greatest health care system in the world to the bottom, but work to get those at the bottom up to the same level as the people at the top so that it is good for everyone.
